Mention people across Slack and Teams

How @mentions work between Slack and Microsoft Teams users in hybrid channels - including channel-wide mentions like @here, @channel, and @everyone.

In a hybrid Slack/Teams conversation, you can @mention someone on the other side and they'll be notified the same way they would for a native mention.

Mentioning from Slack

  • Mentioning a Slack user works as it always has - they get a Slack notification.
  • Mentioning a Teams user works the same way you'd mention any Slack user, as long as that Teams user's mention has been registered first in the convly Slack app. See Create a Teams user mention in Slack for the one-time setup.

💡 Channel-wide mentions: @here and @channel from Slack are converted to @everyone on the Teams side.

Mentioning from Teams

  • Mentioning a Slack user from Teams: type @ and pick the Slack user normally - the mention appears as a real @mention in Slack.
  • Mentioning a Teams user from Teams: standard Teams behavior. The mention also appears as a real mention in Slack, as long as that Teams user's mention has been registered first in the convly Slack app.

💡 Channel-wide mentions: @everyone from Teams is converted to @channel on the Slack side.
