This is the fastest path to start receiving Microsoft Teams messages directly in Slack. The whole flow takes about two minutes and doesn't require any admin approval on the Teams side.
What you'll need
- A Slack workspace where you can install third-party apps
- A Microsoft account that's part of at least one Microsoft Teams tenant
- A modern browser (the OAuth flow opens in a new tab)
Step 1 - Install the convly app on Slack
Go to conv.ly/install and click "Add to Slack". Slack will ask you to confirm the workspace and approve the requested scopes. The full list of scopes and what each one is used for is on the Slack permissions page.
After approval, the convly app appears under "Apps" in your Slack sidebar.
Step 2 - Add your Microsoft Teams account
Open the convly app in Slack, click "Add workspace", then "Teams". A new tab opens to Microsoft's sign-in page. Sign in with the account that has access to the Teams content you want to mirror, and grant the requested permissions.
If your account belongs to several Microsoft tenants, convly will ask which one you want to connect.
Step 3 - Pick what to sync
Once the OAuth flow completes you'll be sent back to Slack. The convly app shows the Teams chats and channels available on the connected account - pick the ones you want to mirror.
Each synced conversation gets its own channel in Slack, prefixed so you can tell at a glance which platform it's bridged to.
Step 4 - Send a test message
Open one of the new synced channels in Slack and write a message. It should land in the corresponding Teams chat within a second or two. Replies from the Teams side will appear back in Slack as new messages.
