View and manage Teams members from a Slack channel

See who's in a Teams chat, add new members, and remove them - all without leaving Slack.

You don't have to flip back to Teams to manage who's in a hybrid conversation. The convly app gives you a member list and add/remove controls inline.

Open the Teams member list

There are two ways to get to it:

  • In any hybrid Slack/Teams channel, type /convly. The Teams members for that channel appear in a popup.
  • From the convly app, open "Conversations", pick the conversation, then click "Users".

Add a Teams member

  1. From the member list, click "Add Teams Users".
  2. Search for the person by name or email.
  3. Click "Add".

The new member is invited to the Teams chat. They'll see the channel appear in their Teams sidebar.

Remove a Teams member

  1. In the member list, find the person you want to remove.
  2. Click the "..." next to their name.
  3. Click "Remove".

They lose access to the Teams chat immediately. The Slack channel itself is unaffected - only the bridge to that specific person on the Teams side stops.

Why this matters

When several people from your team work with the same set of external Teams contacts, this is what lets you shift who's plugged into which conversation without switching apps. Your IT/admin permissions still apply on the Teams side - convly only does what your account is allowed to do.
